Our Vision is :

  • Each child knows the importance of prayer and practices praying ‘continuously"
  • Children understand and are obedient to the command of the Great Commission
  • Teachers are watchful for the Lord's return & have a sense-of-urgency in leading the children to Christ.
  • Each class is growing spiritually and new members are being added continuously
  • Teachers utilize prayer with their class & are growing spiritually
  • People called of the Lord are waiting for an opportunity to teach
  • The Children's Ministry is unified with the other church ministries in being an Ephesians 4 body of the church for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, til we all come to the unity of the faith and knowledge of the Son of God.....Ephesians 4:12 & 13
  • God is pleased with the Sharon Baptist Church Children's Ministry

Our Purpose is to:

  • Provide a necessary spiritual journey start for children of all ages.
  • Instill in each child and their family the love of God
  • Teach children to know that God's love is unconditional and that church is a good place to be.
  • Encourage children to apply Biblical lessons to their own lives
  • Meet children's needs - Ministry, Children have many different kinds of needs, including emotional and social needs as well as spiritual needs. We must be sensitive to minister to the whole child. The real and felt needs of the pupils and prospects should be at the foundation of all our organization planning, scheduling and teaching.
  • The greatest need children have is to know and cherish the infinite value of God. We want children to become so acquainted with the Word of God that they treasure Him alone as the One who saves and satisfies the heart. The goal of our curriculum is to fuel spiritual desire in children by exalting the greatness and worth of God and His glorious work through Christ.
  • Love, nurture, encourage and teach children in a Christian environment. John 21:15 "So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto Him, Yea Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my Lambs.
  • Develop a positive self-image through God's love and to educate young, eager minds in the ways of the Lord.  "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it" Proverbs 22:6

Principles:

  • Children Are Special
  • Children's Workers Are Special
  • Excellence is our goal

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."  Colossians 3:16-17

  • Request a personal meeting with director for any concerns, needs or issues as they arise. The director is in place to pray for and support the teachers and assistants, and to remove any barriers that prevent them from being able to minister to the children.

Live What You Teach:

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Christ at all times
  • Seek God's Vision for you and your class Where there is no vision, the people perish... (Proverbs 29:18) Cover your efforts & the children you teach or help teach in prayer. Ask for prayers from others to support you
  • Confess all sins to the Lord to eliminate any hindrance of the Holy Spirit being able to work through you & in your class.
  • Children learn as much or more by watching than by hearing. Your actions teach them as much about what it is to be a Christian as your words. The children see & remember your actions and words whether you are at church, at a ball game or at Wal-Mart
  • Be ready to lead one of His precious Lambs to Christ
  • Show that you put God first by being to class prepared and on time
  • Show a servant's attitude by volunteering to be a part of Children's Church and other special events throughout the year.
  • Most of all - Show the Love of Christ to ALL children at all times, unconditionally regardless if you know them or not, and even if they don't attend church.  God loves them all. We should too!!!
