The Commissions Ministry Teams of Sharon Baptist Church exist to carry out the work of the ministry. These commissions serve to facilitate the various functions of the church and work toward the common goal of Serving the Lord, Serving Savannah, and Serving the World.
List of Commissions:
Deacon Commission: The Deacons serve the body of Sharon by protecting the vision of the church, and by assisting and protecting the Pastor and Staff.
Finance Commission: The Finance Commission serves the church by evaluating, recommending, and implementing all financial policies and procedures.
Security Commission: The Security Commission serves by locking all facilities following each service. This team also patrols the parking areas and facilities to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance.
Decorating Commission: This team provides attractive interior décor for weekly services and all special events.
Usher / Greeter Commission: This team serves members and guests before and after church services and special events by greeting, seating, distributing information, and receiving offerings.
Transportation Commission: The Transportation Team provides safe and clean vehicles to transport people to and from worship services and special events.
Baptismal Commission: This commission provides assistance before, during, and after the ordinance of Baptism.
Banners Commission: The Banner Commission works with the Music Ministry to provide banners for weekly worship services and special events.
Children's Commission: The Children's Commission provides leadership to all aspects of the Preschool and Children's Ministries of Sharon Baptist Church.
Student Ministry Commission: The Student Ministry Commission works with the Pastor to Students in providing leadership to all aspects of the Student Ministry.
Audio/Visual Commission: This team provides assistance in sound and lighting reinforcement during all worship services and special events. This team is responsible for maintaining and ordering all equipment necessary for excellence in the sound and lighting areas.
Lord's Supper Commission: This team provides assistance before, during, and after the ordinance of the Lord's Supper.
Missions Commission: The Missions Commission works with the Missions Pastor in providing information for and the scheduling of various mission trips. This team also plans and leads the World Impact Conference each year.
The Volunteers Commission: This team serves the church and the community by cooking various meals. At the request of the Pastor and Staff this team helps minister to the needs of various groups around the community.
Building Use Commission: This commission monitors and maintains the use of all church facilities. They also schedule all needed repairs, and formulates a budget to meet those needs.
